In this workshop, ee will learn all about the history of zines: self-published books that anyone can make and share. Zines enabled queer and trans people to connect and collaborate years before social media. Many artists still make zines today to share their stories, ideas, and comics! Together we will learn how to get started making zines.

Abby Neale is an educator and printmaker based in Boston. They create zines exposing hidden histories and exploring how nature can inspire social change. When teaching, they draw on past traditions including zines, printmaking, and woodworking to get young people rooted in their senses and empowered by working with art tools.
